The river was running very fast unable to hold bottom with a 5oz feeder. Fished from 6am to about midday then gave up.
Few small Chub caught more by luck than judgement.
I now know not to book to early and check the level before travelling 120 miles each way.
Apart from the conditions I like the fishery and will definitely return.

Very wet and windy day with the river 4ft lower than wednesday but rising with the rain. Still pushing through the middle leaving a 5ft derp calmer margin. Baited with Chemobaits ChemoR boilies and groundbait with small halibut pellets. Lots more small fish tapping the rod this time, long hair rigs avoiding the chub knocks again. Produced 6 barbel to 7lb 4oz for me on a horrible day. The field was waterlogged upon leaving and I just about got out of it. The hill was fine.
Off home now... will be back!

With a gusting north westerly, heavy showers and the river up and coloured, the Lucky Stone was 2ft. under water, conditions were far from perfect. The wooded area was very slippery didn't feel safe to fish so settled for a couple of swims in the field below the woods. We managed to find a few fish, Barbel in the 5 to 7 lb. range, the Chub in the 3 to
4 and a half lb. range all taken on meat, a few fish lost to hook pulls frustratingly and the other, a Dace of about 5 inches, believe it or not, fell to 2 hair rigged 8mm red robins!!!

Rain rain and a bit more rain, river high but just about fishable - lost a few to hook pulls, shortened the hair and bingo. bites all through the day, worth getting wet for.
