Decided to fish the lowland bank on the far side of the reservoir first as the wind was blowing onto it. Fished all the way round for one brownie which took the Black Pennell on the dropper. Hopped over two barbed wire fences and waded the stream running into the reservoir to get to the other side. Found the fish in the deeper water beneath the rock face. After noticing the odd fish rising, I switched to a sedge pattern and took five fish. Three were from the same spot, which was unusual as wild brownies tend to be territorial. Lots of building work going on at the dam, so wasn't as isolated as I had hoped. But really enjoyable day's fishing and hope to be back soon.

Yet again very poor fishing, this is our third fishing trip to this venue and again poor fishing.
In the three weeks we have fished we have only had 2 fish, today not one bite, vno fish on surface, no fish showing, no fish turning in the water NOTHING.
Its not about the money spent (£140)but it would be nice if we had bites to keep us occupied, after speaking to several other anglers and locals nothing has been getting caught in the past few weeks which is very disappointing.

Took the opportunity between showers, hoping the recent wash through after heavy rain had freshened things. Unfortunately, the river had returned to showing its bones. Bumped three in very skinny water and managed to keep one in in the final pool below the bridge. To be honest, there are now so many trees down that it’s spoiling what was a great beat. I was looking forward to the lovely run a hundred yards or do below the bridge, usually guaranteed to hold a few fish. Unfortunately there is another huge ash tree fallen across the river. Exactly across the run. Ho hum.

What a difference a few days makes down from mid 30's to mid teens (not that i'm complaining!). Rain and low cloud all day so conditions perfect!
Well over a dozen trout on wets mainly Bibio hopper with red legs. Hen harrier spotted hovering and there was a Cormorant there most of the day.

Problems finding the "fishing hut", looked like a derelict shed in the undergrowth and was badly overgrown. The stile is right next to it but not obvious. Needs signage.
