Water level was low and was dissapointed at the lack of swim maintenance in the meadow area. Last year there was more options to fish but a lot of it is overgrown. Having said that, fished lower down and managed to bag 4 barbel 5lb & 6lb and two 8lbers so well happy. Taken on meat and boilies.

A hard day, downstream wind and loads of streamer weed flowing down so difficult to hold bottom with a feeder. River v low. A nice location so will be back. Only 2 bites between us. Pump noisy in the morning but fortunately shut down for the afternoon.

Phone booked ticket ,cost a extra £5 making it £28 , not sure thats helping numbers >?? any way walked both sides tossing in bread to see what was at home ...off the bridge the chub to 5lbs were ravenous , set up below and cast up under bridge with big lumps of flake ,worked well but returning fish soon killed swim.
Sun came through so moved to bottom swim left hand side ,again fed loose bread , fish on it here 30m below where I waded out to caught chub consistently with trotting, bread /corn and rolling huge pieces of meat on a lead link .
Sun out ...fish in and visa versa brilliant afternoon , but the Chub took any bait offered before the Barbel, corn and meat wise.!! then the eels arrived left around 6pm

12 Chub, 3 Other

We fished for 3 hours on a windy day - water levels were lowish and clear. It was a beautiful location but we didn't see a single rise nor indeed anything with fins at all ! We fished with single bug, bug with a dropper and prospected with dry fly to no avail. Decided to pack up at lunchtime to go and fish the Day House Beat on the Lugg which was the right call.

River was low and clear so bites were hard to come by for most of the day. Managed 5 Barbel between us on meat and boiles casting accross to the gully beneath the trees on the far bank. Biggest fish was about 6llbs.

The shear volume of canoes were a real problem (well over 200) with several capsized and people walking down the river. It was pretty much un fishable for several hours. This can be a prolific beat, but I wouldnt recommend it during the summer months.
