River fast flowing and very muddy. We tried but with no success

Rained heavily from start to finish,started fishing at 7,by 12 river had risen by a metre chocolate coloured and motoring through.Banks very slippery and treacherous no bites or indications called it a day.

Normal feeder tactics, 1 barbel weighing in at 9lb 4 fought well especially in the fast flowing conditions.
Heavy rain all day made it very slippery under foot.

2 Trout

River high and coloured. There were 3 anglers not 1 but page doesn't let me correct. Only fished for 2 hours, wading not feasible, used French leaders and weighted nymphs.

Too much water. Manged to wade in one or two places but nothing doing. No rises or shows.

Bad day no fish no bites not really fishable not a good beat

Difficult conditions, very heavy rain at times and a river fairly high and pushing through so 4oz leads were the order of the day and only close in. 1 barbel of approximately 5lb first cast on pellet but nothing afterwards as the river rose constantly through the day. Lovely stretch just a shame having to hide under a brolly for the majority of it, but you book your date and take your chance. Will be back to get my revenge next year!

1 Barbel

Dangerous banks with the wet conditions, there are no proper swims with steps, so you could easily fall in! Also very difficult access by car, we had to push ours up the hill! I wouldn't advise fishing this beat in the wet unless you own a 4x4.
Fishing pellets and boilies for 3 barbel and one chub (slow going for the conditions). Another 6 other anglers fishing the opposite bank on the day made it hard to move! Not the best beat I've fished.
