4 barbel up to 8lb 13oz. All fell to meat in nearside slacks. Decided to park at the top of the hill, the walk back up the hill laden with gear wasn't too much fun!

On a high a river that fell during the day we found a few swims towards the end of the beat with enough slack water to be able to fish reasonably comfortably. A few small chublets were caught early on before we moved further down the beat where JA had two fish in two casts on a 12mm pellet, a Barbel of 5lb 10oz and a Chub around the 3lb mark.

The river was dropping but still really pushing through, we fished a few pegs and managed 1 Chub at 4lb 2oz and 3 Barbel weighing between 8lb 10oz - 8lb 15oz, caught on pellet and luncheon meat.
Still a great day out!

2+ metres on the river meant the upstream swims were really barreling through, much more inviting at the lower end of the fishery. Had one and lost two in the big, obvious peg in the second-to-last field, then found a shoal just on the crease 30ft out on the last field. Had 'em lined up by the end of the afternoon, but the driving rain had me chucking it after fish number 7.
Really good, if soggy, day.

Filming for a new 'Fishing In Wales' website with Hywel Morgan and Rob Hughes. We started on llyn Frongoch, approx 10 stocked rainbows between us to 3.5lb and several wild browns around 3/4lb. Then onto Rhosrydd - approx 15 brown trout up to 1lb 8oz. After Hywel left I fished llyn Glandwgan for half an hour, had 3 cracking wild browns there all about 1lb 8oz. Rob Hughes (camera man) had a few casts end of the day on Rhosrydd - resulted in 2 cracking brown trout, best about 1lb 8oz. Aber AA llyns offer some of the best lake fishing in Wales in wonderful scenery.
