Tough day; river really pushing through. We moved around and tried different tactics but unfortunately blanked - my first blank on this swim - beginning to think my mate is a curse...
Will be back again.

River Level had dropped approximately a metre since the weekend and remained at the same level during the day, an overcast day with some rain showers. 14 Barbel were caught, meat and pellets were the most successful baits. Bank very slippery and difficult to land fish, don't leave home without a rope and a dog spike

First time fishing at Talybont. Tricky weather conditions with dreaded easterly and rain from midday onwards. Fished the end where the river enters the reservoir. Covered lots of water. Caught three very pretty brownies. Two took the Black Pennell on the dropper and the other took a Red Arsed Hopper on point. Saw only my second ever otter in the wild. Great day! Definitely be back when it's warmer.

Not the best conditions with the river in flood again, but managed a few. Highlight of the day was a good sized Salmon picking up my hook bait and charging into the main flow, stripping line off my reel, getting some air twice before throwing the hook.

3 anglers fished on the day. River was up chocolate coloured & pushing through fast with a whole tree passing by at one point. We found 3 swims about half way up that had slack water in the margins & dropped feeder & pellet rigs in fish came throughout the day until the sun came out in the afternoon which made for a very pleasant end to the day & allowed for us & the kit to dry out a bit. This is a very beautiful secluded beat l love it here

First time on this beat, so was pleased that both of us had 2 barbel each. River high, so only a few swims available.
