Fished at the bottom end of the fishery. Water level up with good colour and hardly any debris coming down. Very windy day and raining most of the day. All fish caught on meat, biggest Barbel 6 pounds and Chub 4 pounds.

I was lucky with today; the water had fallen to the point it was clear fish-able and the rain forecast was not arriving until later. It was a very pleasant autumnal day and the main reason for going was the hope of seeing some salmon. I did not. In fact I didn't see a single fish of any kind. There was no movement, no splashes, no takes, no pulls.. no anything.
Time to sign off for 2019 I think....

5 x grayling 12-15 inches plus various out of season trout and parr , dry Red Tag and Grayling Steel Blue. River looked in fine condition now but it was surprisingly hard work - very little natural hatching or rising. One good pull from a salmon on a wet Red Tag.
