Slow start but mid afternoon saw the barbel coming on the feed.

6 fish up to 9lb 7oz came to the net by 6.45pm

River was low and fishing swims limited due to inaccessibility. Barbel caught on pellet. Trotted for chub with success. 4 x 4lb+ chub, great sport.

Six weeks ago I was catching much bigger fish but only 5 over 10", and the rest down towards 6" - all caught on S16 Adams Para. I reflected on how much this beat has changed over the years I have fished it. This year the beat has benefitted from some clearing of bank side trees and some fallen trunks, and it will remain a favourite.

This was the 3rd visit to Craig Llyn, previous 2 trips blanked.
The owner Sean and his friend Simon asked me to join them yesterday for a days fishing. What a fantastic experience. They were incredibly helpful, for those that know Simon, will know that he is a reserved type of person. But once he opens up, his knowledge sorted me out. Both of their knowledge was invaluable. After being with them for just 15 minutes I caught my first fish. Thanks for your patience boys. I would recommend anyone spends an hour or a day with Sean the owner or both to improve your fishing.
