1st time on this beat and would deffinatly go back. Beautiful area and plenty of swims to fish. Fish caught throughout the day on feeder and pellets and from several different swims. A lot of fish in the 1 to 2lb bracket which bodes well for the future.

Evening was quite eventful as we had to carry out some livestock rescue. 2 of us were below the island when we noticed one of the Hereford calves from the field stood in the channel between the bank and island, no idea how it got there.
It then tried to walk towards the island but got swept off it's feet and was heading off down river. It's head went under a couple of times but fortunately the current and a bit of paddling from the calf brought it close enough to get a landing net over it. We then managed to get it a bit further down so we could grab it and drag it out. It weighed a ton, so while me and my mate lay there wet through and out of breath, the calf ran to it's mum. Lucky for the calf that we were there!

A few fish rising but couldn't tempt them. Tried everything but they were too savvy for me. Nice stretch of water but a shame there's a footpath alongside which equals people/dogs/litter.

Great day on beat 3 at Whitney Court, directions were easy and parking very good. The river was very low, fished pellet and had two Barbel to 8lb and a few chub. A beautiful stretch of the Wye, well worth a another trip.

A lovely day though a little windy. This is another beautiful beat, but today, was not our day. No activity, no rise, nothing. We tried dries and nymphs but got nothing. Would go back, but disappointed

First time at the beacons reservoir. Water still visibly very low. Tree island up the top end only has water one side. Fished the West Bank from middle to top. Good conditions, steady breeze with drizzle. Saw nothing moving , managed to pick one very small brownie up around 8 inches. The lack of seeing any fish anywhere on the lake and drone of traffic from the A470 did my head in after a while so called it a day after a few hours .
