My first time on this beat and a lot of new water to cover. Fished from bottom to top and eventually found some fish in a fast riffle. Landed 7 but missed as many takes again. All fish taken on French leader tactics as I didn't see more than a couple of rises during the day.

One note of caution - the report from the previous day referred to some poaching activity. Whilst sitting down enjoying my lunch I saw a guy approach from the upstream end carrying a rod. As soon as I stood up intending to introduce myself he turned foot and walked away at speed. Rather suspicious !

fished upstream of access path in the morning and had 4 barbel ( smallish 5/6 lb and 2 small chub.
moved downstream in the afternoon to the swim just before the footbridge and after a slow start ,( the swim was very snaggy in the middle) the fishing really took off about 16.00 with a further 4 barbel and 4 chub all coming in a couple of hours, fishing slowed towards evening with 2 more small barbel . bait was hinders barbel blitz pellets and meat. excellent fishing at a great venue.

A beautiful venue but lots of snags. We had a few knocks but none materialised. The water was very clear and it was a sunny day. Method used was a hair rigged halibut pellet on a running leger.

Not the best of days for salmon fishing, totally clear sky and blazing sun - not what you expect at the end of September in Wales - but non the less we got the big rods out and had a go. No salmon seen or touched. One beautiful brown trout of about a pound and a quarter, the other 4 wouldn’t have made a pound together. Still, that’s fishin’!

some of the banks are sheer and dangerous with slippy slidey mud........trees need felling to provide acessable swims
