Caught on mix of french leader and dry fly, last two fish rising firmly to a Parachute Adams. Had to leave at 2pm to drive home at which point the fishing for the afternoon was looking promising despite gathering storm clouds. The river was at a good height with a slight tinge from rain the night before. Previous day on the Cammarch Hotel beat brought ten grayling to similar methods but in much lower water.

The river was very low, making it hard going, but we still managed to bag a few.

After a wet start the weather turned ok, cloudy but no rain. Lots of fish rising but unfortunately no catch!
Disappointed but a great day overall. Glanusk is such a beautiful spot.

Great day on the Wye with this my favourite beat. Slow going but fish taken in a variety of swims between the church and upper reaches. Best barbel was 10lb 14oz and would have been heavier as it was slightly hollow. Best barbel from this beat in 4 seasons of coming here. Spoke to the other angler D on the beat and had a lovely chat, so tight lines for the rest of the week. River still fairly low but all the fish were well rested before release.

A pleasant afternoon/evening session. Changed tactics a few times to get the fish which paid off. Pellet and meat both successful. Buzzards, kingfishers and little egret.
Nice to have a chat with the other angler on the beat.

Nothing caught but it was my first lesson in salmon fishing. A thoroughly enjoyable day under the sound guidance of oliver who is very knowledgeable and extremely patient. River needs a bit more water on this beat but a massively enjoyable day which was a present from my wife.

A difficult day. River very low and little fly. Three small fish gave themselves up to a small comparadun in a brief rise before sunset.
