I had a wander but didnt bother fishing as the river was way over normal levels.

We caught five grayling, which were all about 1lb, using weighted bugs and nymphs. The river was clear but quite high, as a result we were not able to access all pools we would like to have.

We look forward to fishing this beat again when the river is a little lower. MP & RJ.

River still very swollen after recent heavy rain - intimidating when you are used to small rivers. Hard frost, overnight snow and temperature didn't get above 3 degrees all day. Fished luncheon meat on the bottom in hope of tempting a barbel but no luck. Beautiful day and location though. Definitely worth taking binoculars as plenty of wildlife and birds to watch while fishing.

River high and cold, only fishable down the edge. Not much fishable bankside cover. Chub saved the blank

16 x grayling 9-11 inches, 1 x out of season trout 12 inches, trotting. River high and clear and air temperature v cold. With a wind it would have been most unpleasant, but the air was still. Black Mountains spectacularly white today. First part of the session wasted with icing rod rings and searching for grayling where they weren't. Eventually found a pod of modest sized grayling and the air temperature crept up a bit.
