Very very wet start after torrential overnight rain. River very full and too much for me so packed up and came back at 4pm. Still raining and river still up but a variety of flies landing in large numbers on the water but no fish taking them.

A very (very) wet day and a bit cold. But there were a few small hatches and we caught 3 and missed a few more. (1 about 1lb the others a bit smaller) All caught on dry flys rather than nymphs.

It rained hard for most not the day and I saw little fish activity and negligible fly life. It was, however, very good to be on such a beautiful stretch of the river.

After a period of heavy overnight rain, a brief rest and the heavens opened again, remaining open through most of the day. River was up by 2inches, with a tinge of colour. My experience of fishing dry flies in the rain, has never be good........until today ! There was no shortage of fish rising and one rod took 4 fish to 1.75lbs in the first half hour. This activity continued through the day, and we accounted for several fish of 1.5lbs to 1.75lbs, six fish of 2lbs and another fine fish of 3lbs, with copper flanks The remainder between 0.5lb and 0.75lbs, making the days tally up to 29 trout. In my book fishing for trout with dry flies, doesn't come much better than this. Thank you to the WUF.
