River in good condition, very clear even though it had rained the day before. Lovely 1/2lb male grayling seen rising and taken on a #18 parachute Adams.
Kept on the same fly and caught 2 wild brown trout, the first a very good fish well over a pound, the second 3/4lb both in good condition . Afternoon became slow although I missed two more splashy takes from grayling.
All fish returned.

River two to three foot above recent levels and pushing through pretty hard Island area very difficult to access however we did risk it just (water level on the path in some areas) We spent the morning on the island then moved up just below the entrance to the island DG on his second visit to the wye lost a couple of early barbel ( hook pulls) DG caught a few chub from a few ounces to five pounds KW caught one barbel from the island on pellet and one chub on float fished maggot After we moved DG caught chub on the float KW also caught chub to five pounds on the float Approx 20 chub caught in total Difficult day on the feeder due to strong flow with weed and debris coming down the river Float fishing the better option on the day Still a great day on a well kept beat thanks to Colin Saw Colin for a chat as normal That's it for this year Thanks Colin and the wuf I couldn't enter over 9 on the fish count ?

Beat:Honddu Pandy

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

Honddu still low and clear with just a few fish moving in shaded pools. These seemed willing to respond to a stiffly hackled cream coloured fly which was tied a while ago with no standard pattern in mind and which coincided today with what appeared to be a fall of a few small similarly coloured moths . One ten inch fish but several rises missed thanks to wonky vision. This stretch which is conveniently close to home has mainly shallow streamy runs with a few pools. Cautious careful wading essential in these conditions.
