A nice short walk to the river found it low and clear. Fished from 6 til 3, taking all the fish on centre pin trotted corn and luncheon meat alternating between 2 swims. All the fish were in good condition, bar for a few lice which were removed. A couple of the barbel were around the 1lb mark, the rest were between 5 and 7lb. Thank you Wye and Usk for a fabulous day on the river.

Great evenings fishing approx. 6:30pm. Water very low and warm. Waded across to access beat. All dry fly/ para Adams, caddis Caught one within first half hour and then nothing until evening rise came on around 10pm. Biggest fish shy of 2lbs. A lot of dog walkers/ disturbed nicest riffle which was a shame.

Another dour day with low water and blanketweed and very little activity except for canoes. Only one bite at dusk produced a barbel for Rich. Its a lovely stretch that can produce surprises but is also moody and badly needs a bit of rain. We only ventured out early and late and can recommend the Royal Spring invention Lane for lunch. Any barbel caught need very careful handling in these conditions and sadly some evidence that anglers upstream hadn't got this concept which is a pity. Perhaps a cessation of all fishing until water temperature drops WUF? I understand salmon fishing has already ceased out of concern for fish.

Pegs on this stretch had to be cleared of vegetation before we could fish. Access to pegs is difficult and in wet weather would be dangerous . We also came across peg s full of litter but realise this is problem caused by anglers. We felt that the price paid to fish this section of the Wye was very poor value. This fishing was poor with 3 anglers all blanking but this due to hot weather spell
