It's a year since the wipeout pollution incident and, thankfully, the river is now teeming with small fish (trout, grayling and minnow caught). 50% taken on a small nymph and 50% on a size 18 klink.
Unfortunately the access to this beat is overgrown and probably inaccessible to the less able bodied.

Arrived to the river to find it up a foot and nicely coloured. Started off on pellet and bomb and needed to up the lead size to account for the amount of debris being washed down the river. Had 5 barbel in quick succession then steadily picked a few off before leaving at 5pm. We were lucky to miss the rain as the wind almost caused inside-out brollys a couple of times before we gave them up as a bad job.

The river dropped about 3inches in the time we were there and had we not had to leave early then I'm sure we would have had a good few more fish.

Please add this to my previous catch return:

Also, to the angler who was fishing the steps below the church - thanks very much for leaving what looked like a full bag of pellets, sweetcorn and also maggots 'tut tut'. The WUF documents clearly state that maggots etc cannot be used until September but I have seen reports of people using these in recent weeks (one very recently on How Caple Court). I don't understand why people cannot abide by the rules - they are there for a reason...

We also picked up the litter you had left...
