Started fishing around 1 pm, cloud had dissipated and day now quite warm. Steady hatch of olives although no consistent rises. Started fishing a duo. After snatches on the Klink, I switched to a dry. Caught 3 handsome WBT on a soft hackled Olive from Onstream, last one being shade short of 3lb! Worth the 450 mile found trip.

Several fish seen, including the bright bar of silver of approx. 12lb, that left me with slack line after its second leap out of the water! Hooked on a Geoff Franks Cascade tube fly on a fast sinking leader. The water was quite cold, and the wind was quite strong. Always a pleasure to fish this well tended beat. Thank you again, Mick.

What a beautiful stretch of River. Dappled sun-light, riffles, ,and glides with regular deep pools. Flies were hatching and dancing in clouds all along this stretch. BUT I DID NOT SEE A TROUT RISE ALL DAY - indeed, although I waded very carefully and used polaroid sunglasses, I did not even see a fish all day - let alone catch one!! I will have to return to this peaceful haven and rectify my failings.

River was very low and clear so I feared the worst. I tackled up with my new bite indicator ( a blob made from yellow dear hair spun onto a number 10 dry fly hook) I suspended a gold head hares ear about three feet below it and began with a series of short casts. I was rewarded with a couple of lively fish and added another to this brace later. on reaching the end of the beat I switched to a deeper sinking black headed nymph and was soon into a sizeable fish hooked in a deep gully. It finally came to hand after several spectacular leaps and weighed in at a round pound. Well satisfied and a little surprised given the low water I returned home. I like this stretch of the Arrow as it offers a wide variety of water even when conditions are difficult. ( tie my bite blob folks it casts really well and floats forever!)

Like all the beats fished during our trip, in dire need of rainfall to bring up the levels. No fish seen.

With significant rainfall to bring up the levels, a very picturesque and interesting beat, but for our visit no fish seen
