Wet, cold and fishless. Looks like a good beat for later on in year. Saw zero insects and no fish. Tried everything I know but clearly I don’t know enough! The only way is up....

Lovely spot but today conditions very challenging due to high levels, fast flow, and very cold. Drew a blank with weighted nymphs - maybe not heavy enough for these conditions.

To much annoyance I had to cancel my leave and work; short notice meant I was unable to try and advise WUF . I hope my booking didn't prevent another who may have wished to fish - please accept my sincere apologies if this is the case!

Arrived at 10.30, good directions easy to find. Got my waders on and was about to put my rod together when I realised I had not brought my reel. It was an hour and a quarters drive from my holiday let. A mistake I won't make again, went home feeling stupid.

Water rose a little so chose to spin. Nothing caught but very impressed with pools and access. Will return in search of that large Wye springer.

Fished Lady Alexanders Catch and Abernant Stream for a few hours. Water looking good but no Salmon seen or caught. A beautiful spot - at one point an otter was fishing quite close to me as Red Kites soared overhead - so really can't complain as Tuesday mornings go!
