Actually trout fishing. Fished nymphs and spiders from 12 until 4 without success. Thin spattering of LDOs at about 1pm, no MBs that I saw, and no rises.

Having used the online booking facility for some years I have to comment that I feel that £3 booking fee for just one rod is way over the top. How can you justify this charge for a facility that has been set up a few years and has minimal running costs compared with ticket machine collection and maintenance. I even use my own printer and paper to print out copies of the transaction. I gain £1 on a 6 fish pensioner ticket and then get stuffed with a £3 booking fee. I complete returns on line consequent to the reminders you send following an outing. I am ashamed to say that when I bought tickets from the machine I rarely submitted returns and I bet you do not get many from other anglers who buy machine tickets. Oh the fishing was fine. The fish were fit. Lost a few but had some sport. I don't eat them but give them to elderly neighbours so I don't worry about getting my bag limit. Four fish ticket next time though to cover the 'booking fee' on line.

WUF note:
We're glad you had a good day but sorry to hear your views on the booking fees. Many anglers prefer the convenience of booking online and unfortunately it is not a service that can be provided free of charge. The Passport is non-profit making scheme. The booking fee for Llwyn On can of course be avoided completely by using the ticket machine on site.

River was coloured but fishable. Caught two small Grayling on a PTN. Had a very close encounter with a Mink. Really enjoyed fishing this beat and will return again. Found empty spinner packets on the river bank, may need to keep an eye out for poachers.

Pleasant day at 12 degc at 12 midday though water just under 1m so decided to fish dry for trout.
Landed one lovely fish of 1.25lb on dry march brown at 14.15. Not a prolific hatch but good enough for the fish to show interest. Great to get the season off to a fine start. Fished till four when temperature fell away sharply.
