One trout caught about 12 o'clock. Lost one about 4 o clock. Fished with worm and spinner. People around me seemed to be doing well. Different bait perhaps?!

Water level was good & all beats were fishable; Plenty of coloured fish showing ,esp. on beat 3 but nothing touched by any of the anglers who were all fishing the fly.Lovely day with plenty of wildlife to observe including one very relaxed kingfisher that had a bit of a cough for a while; We all thought he may have just 'downed' a rather large stickleback? Thanks for a wonderful day.

Beautiful stretch of river and a thoroughly enjoyable day followed by a great dinner and pint at the Bell Inn. Very few fish in evidence and none rising. Tried Olives and multiple other small dry flies then a few nymphs. No joy with the fish, plenty of joy watching the kingfishers and generally soaking up the scenery. Very efficient online booking. Thanks

10.5lb colouring hen from half way down the Rectory pool (never previously caught a salmon here before) on a #10 BSS and 11lb+ coloured hen from 2nd half of Glangwy on a fast fished sunray. Also moved a fish to the sunray in Mill race and pulled a fish on the neck of the Rectory. An eventful 2 hrs fishing!

A good day in near-perfect conditions on this lovely stretch of water. The barbel fed briefly but intensely in mid-afternoon, with most fish caught mid-stream in strong flows. Not a chub in sight today, slightly surprising given their super-abundance on nearby beats this season.

8 Barbel
