What a splendid beat this is. Similar in nature to parts of the Shin or Teith. Some of the pools were a little slow in places at this height. The notes though were clear and easy to follow.

I fished a mixture of full intermediate, float/hover/int and full float. The bottom pools fished better at this height. It's deep in places but nothing showed. Possibly the nicest pool was Herons run.

Wading whilst not easy was better than described. Some of the walkways felt like they were too close to the flow but maybe they are better in low water.

Not that it helped but I fished a combo of size 9 Bann Special, size 12 Kitza Killer and a small cascade. All on a 12' long 12lbs tapered leader due to intermitant sun. It never rained but was more overcast in the afternoon. All felt good but if there were any fish they did not feel the same.

Slight colour in the water still but not too bad.

Started late because of heavy rain. Fished about 2 hours in the morning which produced 3 barbel and a chub.
Due to family commitments (taxi driver), got back to the peg about 4.30 .with all the rain the river was rising and a lot of weed and debris coming down. Fished the feeder with pellet and it was instead action from the off to the finish. BRILLIANT FISHING. Had to move off the feeder to a running gripper lead with pva mesh sticks with good affect. Ended up with 14 barbel biggest upper 8 and 9 chub biggest upper 4. Great days fishing . Looking forward to coming back.....

For the most part, it was a dead day on the beat. Next to no rising fish despite some flies hatching. I caught a few small fish but otherwise quite. However, for about 30 minutes, it was all happening.... I was standing in some fast water and several salmon were attempting to run and were leaping all around me. It was then I remembered why I love salmon fishing. It was so exciting! I didn't hook one, but it was fabulous to be there for that.

Unexpectedly nice day with some sunshine. River low and clear but with good flow. Occasional flies hatching so prospected with very small bwo and iron blue paras. The trout were in the glides and next to deep cover, not in the fastest water. Most glides produced a take and I managed to land 11, at 7" to 12", as well as missing several. Quite a hike back from the top of the beat to the car parking spot, but there was a spring in my step!!

First time on a river after breaking my elbow 2 months ago! Just a couple of hours during a short stay in the area. Lovely stretch of water, plenty of variety. A few fish coming up, and managed to tempt a few on dries. Most takes on nymphs though, but my reflexes obviously need a bit of practice! Word of warning. Very aggressive bull in adjacent field. I had to make a hasty retreat through a field on the opposite bank.

The river seemed to be in good order for salmon fishing, clear and a reasonable height but not even a tug today
