Water had cooled dow a few degrees from my last visit. Started off on dry this was difficult, fish not showing much interest. Switched to nymph and started to connect with a few fish, biggest fish around a pound and a half. Went back on to dry early evening and had a few more, fishing a cdc olive pattern.
Lots of fly life ,loads of caddis, a few yellow may, pretty sure I saw some BWO, lots of spinners, and just the odd mayfly.

All fish 4/10inches, most on my favourite March brown spiders size 16, one rising fish to a size 10 mayfly the only riser of the day, but a beauty. Hooked and lost many more! Sporadic hatch mayfly and others. Stream is very tricky, full of debris and very low.

With the water lower than hoped (just over 1ft) Salmon fishing difficult, fished through regardless, nothing to report.
In the afternoon got out the trout rod out and took 8 trout up to a pound on dries, mainly Sedge emerging patterns but some joy on Mayflies too.

River in good condition. Not the warmest of days and only a few flies coming off around lunchtime. Fished the French leader for the first few hrs and it produced 5 lovely trout the biggest being 17". Then the fish started to rise in the junction pool so I swapped to dry fly and took 2 small trout and missed about 4 others. The rise finished as quick as it started, so I prospected with the klink n dink for the last hr that produced a beautiful fish to 21". Good day all round.

Fished hard all morning without a glimpse of a fish, water atill merky after yesterday's rain. As the sun got stronger I was rather distracted by the Mayfly hatch which produced a series of good fish, the best of which was about 1lb 4oz. At 4.30 a fresh fish estimated at 15lb showed at the bottom of the Rectory pool, and then several others showed over the next hour, had one adrenalin rush when a trout took me as the fly swung over a position where an 8lb fresh fish had shown seconds before.
