Coloured river cleared at a steady height (0.7) throughout the day. Looked great from about 5pm - Fish was caught in the Upper Rocks at the top of the beat on a Willie Gunn variant. Returned strong. Estimated 10lb - coloured hen fish covered in lice - assume it had coloured in the estuary?
(WUF note possibly Argulus - river lice?)

Arriving around 4pm, and speaking to some guys who had been fishing, they said the river was dropping and clearing... Tried a few pools and runs, as usual saw a couple moving in the Gravel catch, other wise no action. Good height, water bit too dirty.

River rose about a foot during the morning, so fishing quite challenging- but both caught, myself with PB Barbel of 8.5 lb so delighted. Lovely stretch of water and was able to drive a camper van down next to the fishing hut. Stayed at the field behind The Moon in Mordiford where we were made most welcome and ate two fabulous meals, so very much recommended. We will return. The 'other' fish was a large eel around the 2.5lb mark.
