River was 3ft up but many fishing pegs still available to fish from. Three of us fished directly down from the church to the left and right of the fallen tree. Caught using pellet and meat with top barbel weighing 9lb. Nice stretch of river but banks can be quite steep.

River level was high and running fast. We had to cast just 10-15 yards out. Plenty of fish early on and later but went quiet for a few hours in the afternoon. A most enjoyable day!

Enjoyable couple of hours fishing this great beat, before driving back to Cornwall. No salmon seen or showing

Only managed 5 hours in the morning but great fishing nevertheless. Best fish of two days caught a 9 2 Barbel just pipping yesterday's best fish and another of 8 12 in today's session. All caught on feeder and pellet.

Fished all day. 5 fish caught 1 on Dry the rest on nymphs.. The river was high and coloured.. Seen 3 people poaching and they didn't seem bothered to see us one bit

29 inch fish so 10lb Salmon on FC slightly colour from Redbrook.

Only 1 rod fished. 5 chub on cheese paste.

Sunday 10th. Bridge pool llanellen ( Usk )14 lbs and 9 lbs on a single hook fc for John Barnston and a 3rd fish lost at the net!

Arrived to find river high and coloured but perseverance was rewarded with 6 fish and many more missed to up and downstream nymphs so the lesson is, don't give up.

Spent the morning on bank maintenance cutting over hanging branches, strimming bracken to ease bank casting. 3 new seats opened up another 2 pegs. Fish rising in the morning. Afternoon river was unfishable - high and silty due to the river Elan.
