Nice peaceful beat - upstream end needs a bit of peg clearance though.

We fished Marl Bed from 5.45am till lunch time. I had 3 barbel, 5lbs, 6lbs and a nicer one of 8lbs 1oz, whilst Dad had one of 5lbs. We both lost fish, particularly me in the upper end of the swim. As a result when we returned at about 5.30pm we moved down to the muddy bit below Marl. I had one fish of about 7lbs here and Dad landed his biggest ever barbel of 9lbs 8ozs just before the light started to go. None of the chub were over about 2lbs although they were a welcome addition when there hadn't been a bite for a while. Great access and an absolutely lovely place to fish, can't wait to get back.

River looked good and is dropping quite fast by the looks of things. Fished with feeders and pellets for barbel and most of the chub but had a few Chub on rolled meat intended for barbel. The Chub obviously did not read the script.
Barbel between 6lbs and 8lbs, chub up to 4lbs or so. All fish in good shape.
Just like to mention how polite and courteous the canoeists were, always makes the day feel better.
Had a good day enjoyed every minute and look forward to my next visit to the Wye.

Fished in the evening after a very bright and warm day. Water temperature up in the 60s. One resident salmon flopped out in The Lines and a small silver fish showed above the Maddox. No takers found although the fly fished beautifully in most pools at 1 foot. Huge congregation of swans in the Maddox and Windmill.

Didn't see any fish to cast at. Caught nothing. Several of the sites were, for me unfishable - 1 and 3.
Directions we quite confusing in places. I think it would be good to have a reasonably large map with the sites marked to give a better idea of how far apart they are.
