River low and clear, a cold night before. Fishing very hard as on all Wye that week. Lovely stretch, no canoes all day. Saw two otters, plenty of bird life, great scenery and think the stretch could be good in the right conditions. Plenty of variety in river, shallows, deeps etc. Will visit again. Few fish to float fished maggots off croy swim.

Very cold conditions did not bode well and this turned out to be a very tough day. One angler took a chub trotting double maggot on his second cast and one angler took a 5lb barbel after 2 hours on a pellet. Other than that it was a very quiet day.

Warm, pleasant, Autumn day with no wind. River on the low side but with a decent flow. Barbel on the first and last cast of the day with a few chub in between, caught on pellet and feeder. The last fish was 9-12 which capped a perfect day in lovely surroundings.

First time on this stretch with 2 guests. Conditions were not as we would have wished being low and clear with a sharp drop in overnught temperature and a cold East wind so we expected to struggle a bit. However, we did manage a couple of barbel with a third lost and a couple of chub so not too unhappy with that.

Day bright and sunny after a ground frost and river very low and clear. First time on beat so walked the stretch before choosing swims. We were disappointed to find that there were very few swims that were fishable especially from the island down stream where the banks are dangerously steep and access to river near impossible. Two barbel and one chub caught late on in the day.

The river looked promising with a mist hanging on the water, and with the Llanstephan gauge at about 1' it seemed a perfect height for salmon fishing. Regrettably, I didn't see or touch a fish all day but I did see a pair of mink, several kingfishers and yellow wagtails. I got to know the beat better and found a very pleasant fly run at Salmon Rock that I've not been able to find before. Not catching didn't spoil the day, in fact it was a pleasure just being there.
