A few olives about but nothing rising so lightly weighted nymphs seemed best. All trout were small fellows from the shallower runs. Tried going heavier and deeper to look for something bigger but to no avail.

Beautiful bright Spring day and water gin clear and below 1 on the Glanusk gauge brought up fly and fish from 1230 in brief concentrated flurries. Rusty angler had a lovely if somewhat erratic time with 6+ to 15 inches. All done by 1500. Is there anywhere more pleasant on such a day?

Cold cloudy day with rain in the air but came to nothing. A small hatch of LDO's at about two but only a couple of rises seen Had two trout of half and three quarters of a pound both on olive nymph just under the surface. Should have been more, lost at least five or six. Enjoyable day
