6 x trout 6-9 inches, various dries. Fish seemed strangely spooky on my way up the stream this afternoon. Quite a few refusals. I was struggling, perhaps because of the low water conditions, or so I thought, and then I saw a fresh footprint in bank-side mud. Now I know for sure, since reading catch returns - JL from Bristol had done it just ahead of me and good luck to him!

Just a few hours, 2 wbt 6/8inches both on blonde Wulf. Tricky casting, lots of twists and turns in the lower section and getting quite a canopy. Pulled off before the upper stretch.

Most fish between 8" and 10" although a couple smaller and a couple larger at around 12", all to Adams. The river was very low and very clear so the going was quite tough in the morning. The fishing definitely improved in the second half of the beat where there were deeper pools with faster flows. It also wamed up in the afternoon and the wind dropped, so the weather helped.

15 trout 6-10inches to a para adams. Wonderful bit of river and probably the best days fly fishing I have had. Abundance of life along this river and probably the most agressive trout I've come across. Will definitely be back to this beat at some point.

Fished 11am through till 3pm, then had to leave for a meeting in Brecon. Very much an exploratory visit, and I thought that I would blank until, quite suddenly fish started to feed at just after 1pm. There had been fly (including a few Mays) before then, but no rising fish. However the very low water made them easily spooked and I put most down at the first attempt. A size 14 dark olive fooled 3, each about 10". The rise stopped as suddenly as it had begun, just after 2pm. A very nice beat, though campers might be a problem at the top end.

I fished from 11am-3-30pm on a warm and sunny day. River running low and clear with fish easily spooked, especially in the tails of pools. 14 trout of about 6 to 10 inches caught on CDC & Elk/Parachute Adams dry flies, the majority from in or near the faster/broken water where it was harder for the fish to know I was there. About half were caught casting to rising fish and the other half casting blind.
