Water extremely low. 1 little trout to the fly and I disturbed a number of good sized trout. Another 6 inches of water would have made all the difference. The upper section is very beautiful.

1 Trout

The river was in good condition and not too over grown.
The trout were holding in the faster water and were happy to rise to small dark flies. There were plenty of splashy takes, and we managed to stay attached to a few.

Didn't catch only fished in morning, nothing much about. Maybe it had something to do with the family of three otters that appeared opposite me at one stage, playing in the river under the bank. Still had good day and will certainly try again.

Book the beat for the day but only planned on fishing the evening. River level was low but fish still showing taking off the surface in the pool. Size 18 black klinkhammer. Nice beat will be returning...

4 Trout, 2 Grayling

Couldn't play cricket due to injury. Went fishing instead and caught my first Wye salmon. Fish of about 8lb on black flying c (barbless hook). Fished HDAA water at Luggs Mouth.
Went home with wet feet and a big smile. Fish caught at 7.45 p.m.

1 Salmon

Nice day if a little breezy at times, fished from 4pm to 7.30pm, water was slightly coloured.
Caught five fish, largest of approximately 10 inches, lost at least five others, all fish were taking on dry fly, blue winged olive and green wells glory.

5 Trout

Lovely day and river beat although a little windy. Plenty of insect life and loads of fry but no adult fish caught or seen. Fished a variety of nymph patterns and in the more sheltered areas up stream dries.

River in excellent condition. Reasonably warm day with a gusty downstream wind that gradually got stronger as day went on. All fish caught using French leader either on hares ear or olive tungsten bead nymphs. Fish started to rise to LDO's and Brook Duns from 11 onwards, but the wind was to strong to use dry fly effectively so I decided to say on nymphs and the fish didn't mind. All pools and runs produced fish Ranging from 8" to 16" and just as many dropped. First time on this beat very interesting indeed. Only criticism is that a few fences don't have styles and one of the farm gates has barred wire wrapped around the top bar. Can the land owner not remove this as it serves no purpose other than to rip fisherman's expensive waders?

Good flow bright day and warm. All fish to traditional spider patterns tie on Czech nymp h size 18. Best fish 7"
A truly magical spot shared with dipper mandarin and kingfisher The only thing which spoiled the ambiance was the large amount of timber and several pieces of scrap metal. Could really do with some low level maintenance work.
