River at a very fishable height and perfect colour fished fly all day. Sadly no salmon seen or felt. Good numbers of decent sized trout active all day with good hatches of olives and sedges right through the day. Lovely day to be on the river. Lots of inviting fly water on this beat. Very enjoyable.

Overcast cool day with a fair breeze from West to East over the dam wall. All fish caught on a sinking line with either a green lure or a white bug eyed thing pulled evenly through the water.

10 fish to 10 inches on a beat for short rods and improvised casting. The first few fish I rose came short to a size 20 klinkhammer. By switching to a larger dry fly with a size 18 hare's ear on a 12 inch dropper, I started to hook fish.

Cold and water quite high made this a challenging few hours fishing. However this is a very fishy looking beat and I will return. One nice fish well over a pound to an Adams during a brief sporadic hatch of LDO's.

Overcast, slight wind - ideal conditions. Minimal fly life all day, except around 2pm, when some hatching at the upper end of the beat where I caught 6 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches on Adams - all released. No fish moved before or after.

5 x trout 9-12 inches. Stopped by for a while on my way from Gloucester to Swansea and found the river running cold and high (so wading was hard work), but it was at least clear. Very few fly seen - just a few dark olives and a couple of March Browns - and no rises, but a few modest trout were prepared to come up to spiders. Regular local anglers tell me that this part of the river has fished quite well lately and a few 2 pounders have been taken this spring.

River still too high really at 0.76 but clearing during the day. Wading obviously quite challenging but it was good to be out nevertheless. Some fly came off but not a great deal and very few fish seen to rise. Most of fish came to nymphs/bugs but one 40 cm grayling to spider pattern and a nice 1 1/2 lbs trout to gold head bug as well. Fished from about half way up.
Water felt very cold and it may have been this which kept them with their heads down.

6 Trout, 4 Grayling
