Great day, very bright with little cloud and water as clear as gin - I did not give myself much hope however the fishing was good with 5 WBT hooked and as many lost. Took first one on dry within minutes of first few casts, the remainder on nymphs fished on on long leader. Hatch around 1 pm fish rising frequently lasted about 40 mins then back to more tranquil times.

Lovely Spring day for first outing of 2015. Low water, bright conditions and picture perfect. Nothing much doing until brief and concentrated hatch of March Brown (?) brought up trout. Driver error and lost in the moment conspired to make a mess of it! 2 trout hooked, played and long-distance catch and release. All good, until demand of Six Nations took over.
Thank you to the kind Glanusk Estate Shepherd who recovered my phone later in the day!

A lovely day on the river. It felt like spring had arrived. Large hatches of what I think were March dun appeared late morning for a couple of hours but not a riser in sight. Water still very cold. All fish caught deep on gold head hares ear. Fish sizes were between 8-14 inches.

What a beautiful day for me to start the season! The water was quite low and clear. There were buzzards above and lesser celandines below. I fished for a couple of hours in the afternoon and started at the rock pool and then moved down to wood stream. I didn't see any fish but it was great once again to be casting a spey line into the water. There were one or two march browns hatching which was lovely to see. I went back on Sunday for another four or two. Again a beautiful day but no fish seen or caught. It's great to be back at Chainbridge and there's always next time! Thanks again to the owner, who as always was extremely helpful and friendly.

Fished the river from Abercanaid up. River was gin clear but opted for Klink and dink to start off with in some fast runs. Later in the day a good hatch of ldo's came on and switched to my ldo pattern. Managed to catch some great fish from 1lb up to 4lb plus. Just wish that I could post photo's on here.

Wonderful beat, good access and stunning scenery. Fished for 8 hours and only saw two fish rise so a quiet day but will definitely be back again. Oh, and pack your machette for the upper woodland area if you intend to venture upstream!
