River was low and clear. Access to the water is good downstream of footpath. Started fishing at 2:30pm opposite the island and had 2 chub. It then went quiet till about 7pm and then had 2 more chub and 1 barbel about 6lb. Chub were between 3-4lb and all fish were taken on pellet and feeder. Close parking and excellent service from WUF.

1 Barbel, 4 Chub

2nd day on Courtfield, we caught 7 barbel to 10lb 2oz and 12 chub to over 4lb using feeder/pellet tactics.

In addition several salmon parr were caught. All fish were in excellent condition.

3 Trout, 4 Grayling

Another hard day in bright sunshine. One barbel and two chub before 11am and then nothing till 4pm. Caught another 8 barbel between us from three different swims towards the bottom of the stretch. All fish fell to pellet. Best fish about 8lb.

9 Barbel, 2 Chub

Fished top end early morning before it got too hot and fisherman on the far bank moved in. The lower part of the beat did not look promising in the low water and bright sunny conditions. Usual feeder method and pellet baits, all fish in good condition.

4 Barbel, 5 Chub

Bright day, low water and only a few small trout but a very pretty location and will be heading back when conditions improve.

Weather very hot and river running clear. 2 chub one on float one on feeder. Very hard going.

2 Chub

10 - 1400 boiling hot. Missed 3 on size 20 midge, too slow. Not much fly life and nothing rising as far as I could see. Pretty dead but guess the time I had available is not the best. Still, nice to be by water as plenty of shade and cover for all.

Thank you for your quick response when I reported that other people were fishing. The land owner came to see us and said he would putting up fishing notices. So hopefully this will put an end to the problem.

17 Barbel, 5 Chub

Sometimes it falls sweetly into place and the madness of a four hour, 190 mile round trip can be explained. I made a full day of it, fishing early and late. The Arrow was clear and on the low side. Netted four fish of 8”-10” before 11.00am. Three to a PTN, one to a grey Klinkhammer.
After 5.00pm the sport was excellent. Tempted, missed, lost and caught fish feeding just below the surface. These Kington Trout don’t give you a second chance. Two stunning fish of 12” and one of 8” came to a size 16 Parachute Adams.
Delighted to meet and talk with Simon from WUF in the morning and again in the evening along with members of Kington Fishing Club. Thank you to everyone who works to maintain my favorite stretch of water.
