Quite a few fish rolling most of the day at the bottom end. The stile needs fixing & a bit of bank clearance would help but there are few swims available! Warm day, no rain, river with a tinge of colour. Good day out, keeps you fit.

This was the second of two days on this beat. Don came to see us on both days and after our comments on the footpath he kindly started working on it. Much improved, thank you.
We had learned that the fast water was the most productive area and caught throughout the day but with long periods of inactivity. A kingfisher and 3 buzzards added interest as did the antics of some of the canoeists who generally heeded our advice to keep to the opposite side only to go aground further downstream.
Barbel today ranged in size from about 2 to 7 pounds but all fought hard in the current. Chub were generally around the 5lb mark and all were in mint condition.

Hard day on low river in hot bright sunshine with no bites until late afternoon. Perseverance paid off with too late barbel to 6lb from the croy and 16 chub to 4lb in two hours before dusk from faster water in one of the new swims below. Chub on sweetcorn and barbel on pellet.

Difficult day, river very low with a green algal tinge. Very bright and hot day which didn't help. Managed to have a barbel and 5 chub between 2 rods, all to feeder and pellet tactics. Be prepared for a good walk and be careful of hidden holes along the bank.

A beautiful sunny day with the river running ever lower and clearer. Unfortunately, a stiff downstream breeze made float fishing very difficult so the feeder was the only real option. Another lovely day out in wonderful surroundings and enough fish to top it off.

First time fishing the Wye and we had a great day. Not many accessible pegs so started the day on the first beach swim and not much action for the first couple of hours. Decided to try next beach section (pebble) and had a barbel first cast. We continued to catch regularly throughout the day on cage feeder and pellets. Ended up with 10 barbel and 8 chub and also lost a few, will be back.

Good mornings fishing managing 7 barbel to just over 8lb. Fished the stretch below the woods amongst the weeds for a change and surprised myself with the fish I had. It seemed devoid of life so just goes to show.

I had a good afternoon & evening at wooded end of fishery
with 6 barbel ( best 10.2lbs) & 5 chub (best 5.4lbs), all on pellet and groundbait feeder. George fished first swim in Legg
Meadow for 2 barbel and 5 chub. Must thank Don for his help & advice.
