Arrived mid afternoon and fished for 3 hours. On and off drizzle during fishing. Caught 6 trout and a very small grayling. Some active risers, others by prospecting. Trout were all between 5 to 8 inches. All caught on dry flies. Sz18 para Adams and black klinkhammers.

Fished Llyn Egnant from 2pm to 7pm with traditional loch style flies. Water very low and quite warm - our guide said it was the lowest he had seen it since 1976. It is a stunning place but the fishing was tough, presumably due to the low levels and high water temperature. We saw four fish move all session, one of which was a swirl at my fishing partner’s top dropper - bibio hopper. No fish caught.

PLEASE BE WARNED - the low water levels have exposed extremely boggy ground around the lake. My fishing partner got stuck and had to be rescued by our guide.
I strongly recommend that no one fishes here alone and that they do not take any risks when walking round the lake or wading.

Fishing Passport booking process and info is good. Would return when levels are more normal.

Fished the morning in the slow water, nothing caught, later I fished the faster water and caught two barbel, both fish fought hard and were in good condition, both needed no recovery time and swam off well (probably a bit annoyed at being caught)

What a difference from yesterday. Fished the deeper slower end, struggled for bites, fish seem to be in the faster shallower water. Had some welcome rain today. Still a very pleasant day. Other was an eel.

4 Chub, 1 Other
