Great day on this lovely stretch of the Wye, one fished the top section near the hut and the other had a long walk down to the woods, lots of Chub everywhere and occasional Barbel up to 9 lbs 4 oz, Had Chub mostly on meat and Barbel on pellets

Heavy rain on the Sunday and until noon Monday probably didn't help. Will return next season when the weather is more settled as the top half of the beat looks very nice for trout and grayling

Brilliant fishing on the feeder and some great chub fishing trotting a float up in the water. Very limited accessible bank given the length of the stretch and the access road not to be attempted in wet weather. All anglers not in possession off a 4x4 got stuck and needed to enlist the help of other anglers pushing to get our cars up the hill.

The weather was like four seasons in one day with a mix of cold winds , glorious sunshine and showers . Got to the river about 11:30 and was looking lower than I anticipated.
A few anglers fishing my usual pegs , which surprised me as I’ve never seen anglers down this end ,so set up further upstream .The rocks are the main attraction here usually so good to see anglers using the alternative ( there’s more to Fownhope than the rocks !)
Had a fish on the first cast , then missed a rod wrenching take on my second , this got me thinking I was in for a busy day , but the swim went cold for some time . Last light gifted me two more lovely specimens so ended the day on a high .
All fish were of a nice size , biggest 9lb smallest 7lb , and a cracking chub at 4lb . All caught on a variety of pellets , great day !

Weather overcast with the odd shower and light wind. One of the trout was a good size about 1.5 lbs. Fishing with nymphs, pheasant tail and shrimp patterns. All fish returned. It was my first visit to the area and I found the access from the Byefield Lane car park through the meadow to the river very easy.

Worst days fishing we've ever had on the wye. Topped off by ridiculous behaviour of a group of canoeists. Came ashore 20 yards from us and proceeded to get out and start throwing rocks into the river until we shouted at them. Stayed about 45 mins though then left. A proper guided trip from adventurebeyond.co.uk. most of the canoes are very respectful but there are still idiots about.
