Wet day, had to go to far down river end of beat to be able to access the water (one member of party disabled) We obviously got it wrong but thought this was a much more easily accessed fishery than it turned out to be.

Enjoyed the day. Very wet afternoon. Fished the right hand bank for trout - the more animated section by the hut and off the bank and waded further upstream. A few fish rising, a small hatch later in the day. No luck this time. Attractive stretch though quite expensive. Great to be able to drive along the bank. Very pleasant Sunday lunch at the nearby Horseshoe Inn.

He's still bloody annoying that WH of Craven arms- 13 fish for the day to my happy 4. Both had a great time-we were anticipating having to give way to foul weather and head to the Griffin arms for a pizza, however there was one hour of heavy rain and that was all. Some compensation for the lack of pizza was a slice of Waller's gala pie. Most caught on squirmy wormies with 4mm tungsten beads or pink shrimps. One on a Bloa dropper.

It was good to be back on this beat after a few years absence. Access is perfect and being able to drive to the river (in a 4x4) makes for a great day. We only fished until early afternoon as the weather forecast was looking grim for later in the day.
Fished a number of swims and caught some nice chub. Many thanks to all involved .. it is very much appreciated.

Another memorable day on a very beautiful and interesting stretch of water. The river had risen a few inches and had a slight tinge to it, which probably explained why most of the fish were taken on nymphs. I managed a trout and grayling to 16" – lovely fish in anyone's book. It's certainly challenging under foot, amongst the slippery bedrock and slimy river bed stones – a wading staff is a must! Come 3pm, the heavy rain had set in, so it was time to quit while I was ahead and head home.
