Warmest day of the year. Mostly sunny. Could not find the trout apart from a few fish rising sporadically. Lots of swimmers and people picnicking beside the river. Access good. Wading challenging.

A hard day in bright sunshine, very few fish rising along the beat. Nothing seemed interested in whatever we offered. Nice place to spend a day with a good friend though!

Arrived with only half the beat fishable due to several parties occurring on the far bank. Very little fly life or rise until the last 2 hours of light when the river came alive. Small hatches of upwings, odd mayfly and smuts with fish quite particular, only taking a brown upwing dry. Lost a further 2 and missed several rises. Far better priced stretch this season at £25.
