Hard fishing, but a nice hatch of MBs brought on a good rise in one of the pools. Fish seemed very absence either side of the hatch !

Very first visit to this beat and WUF directions were on the money. A phone call was necessary to confirm visit. Very muddy as shown and my wadding stick helped to get me to the river. No luck today. Only fished straight line nymphing in all deepest poles. Water was coloured but not too much. Cold wind didn't help. Early finish and pub in Builth Wells to catch the footy.

It was great to be back on this lovely beat. The water was a tad high, showing 1ft 8 inches at Brecon, but it cleared pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the rain came in quite hard around 1pm, which put a stop to any hatches. Most of the fish were taken on spiders, one on the nymph and one on the dry to end the day.
