Started at first light. The river had coloured up a bit and dropped slightly since midweek but still a nice pace for a fly in most pools. No takers today though.

Great day on the Wye! Caught chub throughout the day and the barbel turned up late afternoon.

4 Barbel, 13 Chub

Beautiful small beat, steps cut into bank were great. River in perfect condition, managed 6 barbel and 2 chub.

Meat the preferred bait with just one chub taking a marine halibut pellet. River up a couple of inches on previous day and most baits in the occasional cloudy spells.

Best barbel weighed 10.75lbs. Most chub caught on luncheon meat. Several fish lost in good weed growth.

The entrance gate could do with a catch to hold it back when driving through.
