Fantastic day to be out, with the river in fine fettle although could have done without the cold north wind. Saw nothing in the morning but hooked a strong fish in Maddox after lunch, sadly though it came off before we could land it. Saw other fish jump in Vanstone, Dog hole and The V.

Weather dry but cold with wind from East. Water .51m and clear. John fished woodstream with Partridge and orange spider with no result.
I had two around half pound each at tail end of chine pool on dry dark olive size 12. I ventured into deeper water in chine pool having seen a few decent fish only to ship a shedful of water through a rip in the upper part of my chest waders which was picked up unknowingly on lowering myself down the steel ladder into the pool.
The wind had picked up and the fishing died a death, and I gave it best and returned home.
I will attempt a repair and reenter the fray next week.

8 inch brownie of a emerger. A few rises in pool above bridge. But otherwise quiet.

caught one Rainbow trout using artificial worm, ledgering, water was choppy, only bites I had were when the wind dropped

Worth to mention of total catch 2 very good Grayling over 2 lbs each on wet fly.

Nothing caught one seen rising but could it be tempted. A really lovely place to be but very tough to fish

First cloudy day for ages; cold wind dropped but air temp still only 11C. River low and needs a refresh; algae is building and the shallows are getting slippery. All quiet until around 3pm when there was a quick hatch of olives. Two fish in short order on BWO.
