Early start but not any good. Conditions were good river starting to show her bones now. Two big trout caught and returned one about a pound and the other well over the 2lb mark. Just a note of caution though there is a big branch stuck in the willow pool and if not removed might cost you a fish.

3 x trout 6-11 inches, Parachute Adams. Oh dear! I have to report another beat which badly needs some trimming and access work, just after penning a piece for the newsletter about the wonderful fishing in the Golden Valley. There are a few gaps at the top where I did my best, but the lower end is thoroughly overgrown. What I can't understand is that, according to information I have been given, this was last done in January 2015 and yet it is supposed to be an adopted beat? What happened to the maintenance last winter?
