8 x trout 6-11 inches on a Parachute Adams. Mostly small fellows and few natural rises - post mayfly repletion perhaps. The beat looked as beautiful as it always does in high summer.

Great day on the fishery. The fish had clearly just spawned as the chub were pretty well knocked around and the the barbel long and thin. Having said that the fish fed much of the day. Thanks Don on all the hard work completed in Leg meadow. The strimming work was much appreciated.
Largest barbel was 8lbs 13oz and the largest chub 5lbs 3oz. Happy days

We started at the lower reach of the beat and worked our way up just beyond the weir. After that things got a bit too overgrown to progress further. We hooked 6 fish between us (three each) but most wriggled their way off the hook before they came to hand. One brown trout landed, five escapees and numerous misses - many of which cost a fly as the rebound took the line into the nearest tree! Most came to a nymph of one sort or another with one very spectacular take on a mayfly imitation - there were still many about.
