1 grilse safely returned in the morning for Greg Tustin. Water condition and height good on what was more like summer day around 20 degrees in October!
As always expertly guided by Nathan whose patience in an exceptionally frustrating season due to the weather/water conditions should be acknowledged

TP(Woodbridge) & MB(North Shields) had an enjoyable days fishing in glorious surroundings at Lyepole. TP had 14 Grayling to 11ins on French Nymph tactics and MB had 12 Grayling to 11ins and 1 nice OOS Trout. 10 of the Grayling came to Dry fly. No Otter remains seen but both saw an otter in different pools. We will be back next year!!

The day began with a similar experience to I. R. from Leamington Spa.
A large herd of VERY inquisitive calves provided a “welcoming” committee. Once they’d stopped licking and snuffling the car, leaving a slug-like mucus all over it, they then followed me into the river! Very social!
The river was still slightly low despite recent rain and also moderately coloured. Saw one salmon in the Llangoed pool but nothing else rising.
Managed to net one good sized Grayling from the Waterworks stretch on a Czech Tan Nymph.
Access to the river is a little tricky in places and wading is quite tricky with the flat bedrock being very slippery.
This really is a very picturesque beat and a lengthy one, so will have to return on a future date to complete it all.
