Cold and wet day--very little surface activity. A silver march brown fished deep the most successful fly but small black also worked. As usual at Bugeilyn quite a few fish missed.

A very different river from three weeks ago with the water coming through very fast, nothing rising and very little fly life to speak of. Three 5-6” trout caught on the Hares Ear nymph and safely returned. Not a bad day, particularly with the kingfishers flashing up and down the river.

Tough conditions due to the height of the river but an enjoyable day spent on this stunning section of the Wye.
It was great to have a chat with the gamekeeper for this beat and to see the swims freshly strimmed ready for the start of the Season.
We will be back in more favourable river conditions.
Many thanks W&U.
