Good fishing with nymphs in the morning, but suddenly completely cut off during the afternoon until early evening when mostly grayling start raising in the pocket water left. Missed a lot, but still good fishing. On a dry got also this healthy and coloured WBT, more than a pound in weight

Difficulty using the parking at the sawmill on the southern end of the fishery.
There were already 2 vehicles parked and the owner/operator of the sawmill was very unhappy about a third vehicle.
So parked at northern spot instead, no problem for me.

This was my first time fishing on the Usk for Trout and what a terrific beat it is! Water levels meant that you could really get into the river and at the fish. This river is teeming with life. Our first trout was caught on a black nymph and then the second two on a green Klinkhammer pattern. Clearly the fish were feeding just under the surface of the water. Our best trout was a 1.5lb beauty, caught at the bottom of the beat in the tail of the first pool. A glorious day in a glorius setting.

First time on this beat this season , glad to be back , as you'd expect the river was extremely low after this dry summer we're having , so was expecting a tough day .
Was very happy to catch what I did , lost a couple to ! Fished from 3pm to 9:30pm , great day , lots of sunshine , wildlife and a few fish in the net .

8 x trout 6-14 inches, Parachute Adams. Another warm and cloudy day, prospecting with the dry fly. However, unlike Titley yesterday, those trout which were prepared to rise today were in the deep pools, not in the runs. Best two fish were 13 and 14 inches, fat and fit, which are nice ones for the Arrow. Sadly the gate to that nice little parking place in the field has been broken up.
