First time on this stretch very good access and great banks due to being salmon beat. The whole length looks very fishy but I struggled all day not helped with a gale blowing and river was full of branches etc and keeping a bait in for 30 seconds was nearly imposiible.

Word of warning when leaving the venue and entering the main road it is very dangerous as you are unable to see any traffic coming from you right. it would help to have a 2nd person to let you know when road is clear.

Fairly tough conditions with the weed and winds playing up, however we did manage to land some fish. All fish today fell to pva bag tactics and were mostly around the 5-7lb mark with a few bonus fish up to 9ish.

Wind blown debris a nuisance but the fishing was fairly consistent with fish coming throughout the day.

Had a very busy day, 2 of us fishing the pool at the end of this short, shallow and fast flowing beat. Around 40 Barbel to around 5 pound. I have never seen so many small, but beautiful condition fish. We also had 2 small chub and plenty of dace, some really big ones of 10 oz or more. We struggled with pellet and meat, the fish came thick and fast on maggot feeders against the trees on the other side.

Had a good day considering the windy conditions which made it difficult to hit the spot when casting. Fished pellet and feeder tried to find holes in the weed.

Apart from a raging hurricane (Ali) passing through, the weather was warm, the day stayed dry but overcast, the river was low but in fine condition, and the fish were feeding. My BBC weather app said it was to be a Fresh / Moderate breeze for the day, but that was never the case. By noon, the gusts had really arrived, with tree branches "breaking" in the trees on the far bank, and the tip never stayed still. Nevertheless brilliant day.

Fished over-weighted swimfeeder with a hemp and pellet mix in the feeder, with 2Nr hair-rigged 10mm pellets on the hook; fished upstream to compensate for the strong winds, with the tip cranked hard down to the feeder; then waited for any form of drop-back on the tip before striking. Caught 4Nr barbel (to 7lb, 6lb, 5lb, 3lb) and 11Nr chub (to 4.5lb, possibly one of 5lb). All fish recovered well in the net before release.

Despite the constant wind and gusts, it was a "great" days fishing in a beautiful part of the country.

It's good to have a decent wind to fish Talybont loch style but you can have too much of a good thing. Ex-hurricane winds brought a tree down blocking the road up from Talybont, made fishing very difficult at times and wave action muddied the water near some banks. But in the right places, trout were keen to have a go at the flies, especially the bob. I only landed five up to 14" but had plenty of other interest. Judging from some that came off, many were probably small. Fish in good condition though a couple still carrying freshwater fish lice.

River very low and weedy, but coloured up so that by 2.00 nothing was happening. Hopefully the river will rise as well and clear it out a bit. Had some rises earlier on, all missed, but then nothing. WUF note: by the campsite people have been building dams, which is fine (built many myself when younger!), when there is still a run through. However, just below the bridge there was one substantial, well built dam right across the river. Whilst the water was getting through, it was an impassable barrier for any trout trying to get further upstream. Perhaps a chat with the owner to ensure a passage way is always left?

Not a touch for many hours but three barbel in the last hour and all over 8lbs. Also lost one at the net. Gale force winds all day made the conditions unpleasant.
