Air temperature was about 55 deg F, and although the river was dropping nicely it was quite murky.
I did get a good pull midday, and at about 6 pm just before I packed in, I was into a fish of under 10 lb for about 5 seconds at the tail of Lady Alexanders pool.
It was my first time on this beat and I will return, especially for the relatively easy wading along that pool.

I managed to fish for one hour, but due to the rising water level impossible to hold bottom even with a 5oz feeder. Accepted defeat and just admired the river. Another day and better conditions. I wold have fared better.

River up a little since I fished it on Tuesday ( 0.75 ddol farm gauge ) and thankfully the leaves had all gone by. Fished nymphs in the gutter and pools on the lower section ( too deep to access the top pool ). About midday lots of sedges and upwings about but still nothing rising! Had to leave at 2 o'clock but its been a great week back here in wales, many thanks WUF. grayling to 14" and trout to 12"

I fished the lower section for the first time and a 7lb 12oz Barbel at 10:50 gave me false hope for an eventful day. Unfortunately I didn't get the second bite, a 7lb 11oz Barbel until 17:15. A disappointing day with only two fish to show for a lot of effort, as I baited and fished several swims. I also saw my second Otter in two days and a beautiful sunset.

Much like the previous days, sunny with high pressure but the river looked good. Baited several swims and kept moving. My fishing mate managed one barbel late morning and we thought the tactics of baiting, waiting and moving around may work but again we had to wait until after 5pm for more action when I managed a couple of barbel on the feeder and pellet.
