Fishing:Trout (River)

A very nice stretch of water in a lovely place. It's not a particularly secluded piece of river but still very pretty. It's wild stream fishing with lots of overhanging trees so care is needed. Acsses to river is very good. No sign of any fish today no takes , no rises a little bit of fly activity. A very nice session but blank being the word of the day. Will definitely be back for another go.

Fished from 3.30 - very enjoyable afternoon with 11 coming to hand and missed a few more, up to 8inch. A slow start until I worked out that a nymph with a bright red bead was what they seemed to be after.

A lovely day on the river. Brief LDO hatch at 1pm but not many fish rising to them - I suspect down to the very blustery conditions. Nymphs were obviously very active though and trout were keen to intercept my imitations.

Evening visit to Tal-y-bont after work. Arrived at 6.00pm. It was cold, breezy but dry and fairly bright. Wasn't expecting much, but had 2 fish by 6.10pm – a good start. Action continued at a fast and furious rate, despite a brief interruption by some lads with a paddle board. Ended up with 15 fish by 7.30pm, with many more missed and lost. Most of them were around 3/4lb, but a good few were over a pound. One of the best evenings Ive had on the venue, for whatever reason they were 'on' – and not a rise to be seen.

The river was slightly coloured from recent rain and the weather conditions were good.
Despite that all the fish were hiding, and I had one of those days of knots & tangles where nothing seemed to go my way.
No fish caught as a result, but a nice afternoon spent on a pleasant stretch of river.

A very warm welcome from staff at Glanusk. First time fishing the Usk , unfortunately didn't catch a fish of any description.
River running fast and coloured not really fishable. But I persevered hoping the water would clear. I fished till 7pm but still fishing in brown water my chances of catching low.
I will be back and hopefully time it right next time.

Area:Tawe

Beat:Tawe - Beat Two

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:2

Beat 2 is very difficult to access and anglers have to wade across the Twrch to reach the lower end of the beat at the parking area. The stones in the river are very slippery and a wading stick is essential.
It was a cold day with very little fly coming off the water and we saw no sign of any fish rising.
Tried to move upstream and checked about 4 bridges that cross the beat but could not get to the water from any of them.
If we had been able to view the beat map and then the same on Google maps we would not have booked this beat.
It would be an improvement to this website if these were made available to anglers prior to committing themselves to the booking.
