First time on this beat, and conditions were very kind to us. Access to the water is good, but wading is required to get the best from some of the longer, more overgrown sections. A real mix of water. Fish were caught using weighted nymphs and all returned.

14lb fresh salmon from Ross A.C. Weirend fishery fish came to a black flying C

10lb hen fish from Ross A.C. Weirend fishery on a tungsten snaelda fly.

18lb salmon from The Stones on a SHFC. A few others seen in the Dog Hole and Stones. Water remained coloured throughout the day with the water height consistent at 0.72m on the Ross gauge. Fly fishing a challenge as a result.

River up and coloured so did not fish

Very cold and wet. The river had risen and coloured from the previous day. We had to use fast sinking tips to get the flies down. Managed to hook five and land none . Roll on warmer weather.
