No fish caught. I have previously caught quite a few fish here. Quite a few of the previous fish holding spots have disappeared. Lots of gravel has moved through and changed the holding places. The water was also very clear. Didn't see a single fish the whole time I was there. Lots of evidence of wild boar entering the water. Puzzled about where all the fish were!

one fish well over a pound in very good condition. Difficult stretch to fish because of heavy growth of vegetation.

Apologies for the late return....
A good day in awful conditions, we started fishing in light drizzle and finished in torrential rain. Very little surface activity but the fish came to nymphs and spiders.
A lovely stretch of mixed water, with interesting pools glides and runs.
Many Thanks to the Wye and Usk (and land owner) for continuing to introduce such quality waters to the scheme.

One of the barbel was 9lb & two of the chub were nearly 5lb, so we were chuffed with those fish! Although we caught a few, there are more prolific beats if it's numbers your after, as these fish came over 11 hours fishing between two of us! It does seem though if you're after a quality fish or two then Courtfield should be considered. Scenery was amazing, what a special place the Wye is for the river angler!

Despite the rain during the week the river wasn’t really carrying any extra water, decided to start with casters for the first couple of hours but only caught small chub and dace. A switch to pellet and meat eventually got the barbel feeding around 1pm, caught 7 in total up to 8lb 13oz, an enjoyable days fishing.

After moving downstream from the woods section fish came steadily throughout the day. A move at the end of the day above the woods provided one more. All fish caught on pellet, the largest being around 8 1/2lb.
