Craig Llyn is becoming one of my favourite places to be, I always enjoy fishing this stunning beat.
Weather was positively spring like with sunshine, a gentle beeeze and highs of 14C, a few Olives started emerging around 11:30am and a few fish started to rise to them before a very impressive hatch of March Browns occurred around midday sending the fish just upstream crazy with lots of splashy rises, I managed 3 out of season Grayling on self tied dries before the fish seemed to disappear despite a blizzard of March Browns which lasted about 20 minutes.
I fished on without much success until later in the afternoon when one or two fish started rising in the deep, slow pool in the first field, I offered them my dry fly which was taken on the first cast and resulted in a very pleasing 20 inch brown trout, a great end to the day.

Three caught, 17, 12 and 12 inches. First caught on a PTN below a dry fly. The other two caught on a dark olive dry fly. There was a sparse hatch late morning that lasted from about 11am till 1pm, with trout rising to these for about 30 mins. The river is in good form.

Great hatch of March browns from 11 for about an hour which got many fish feeding. Most of the fish taken during this time to a cdc dun pattern in #12. Biggest fish of the day fell to a small nymph with measured in at about 16". Good day.

River it was dropping and clearing really well, it takes the fly in most of the pools now. I fished hard but not springers seen.
Nice spring day to be out.

Perfect fishing day sun with high cloud, river good height 2'1" and falling, good clarity but on the cold side 44 degrees. Expectations high but no Salmon caught or seen, some descent March Brown and Olive hatches and the surprise catch of a relatively silver 1 1/2 lb sea trout on the fly at the end of an enjoyable days fishing. Fishing the Chapel catch gutter was slightly tricky at this height as my brother and myself both have descent studded boots but at times were being slid along the bedrocks by the strength of current so caution needed in higher flows I'd say!
