Fished upstream from the car parking at cwm farm. May flies were coming off all day but not many fish rising. Throughout the day had success on a yellow may spider pattern retrieved slowly through the deeper pools. At 4pm the fish switched on to the dry fly in the streamy water and enjoyed the best evening of dryfly fishing I have ever experienced, catching 15+ fish in 2 hours on a parachute adams. All fish from 3-8" and returned safe.

5 x trout 6-8 inches, Rusty Klinkhammer. A quick early morning trip up the channel with water very low and fish remarkably spooky - mostly on the pool tails. I missed or spooked a lot, but it was good to be out after a week indoors

River low with some colour, barbel in great condition. Three eels landed which is great to see them in the river and even funnier on the end of my mates line!!!

Tough going with low water and the annoying down stream wind has returned.
I only fished half the beat up to the train station where I called it a day after losing my fly to a tree.
3 Trout 6,8 and 10 inches 1 on a nymph and 2 to a soft hackle dry.
Still a few Mayfly hatching.

The river was very low, but had a tinge of colour. There was not much weed growth compared with previous years.
I was catching barbel on float-fished pellet until a succession of canoists, dogs, wild swimmers and family swimmers invaded my swim and my fishing was finished for the day by 11am. Paying as much as we do for fishing, this is very disappointing. I realise it is one of the perils of fishing the Wye in summer, but that doesn't make it any less irritating.
